So we got TWO chihuahas in August but sadly Ty's puppy had a significant heart condition. We felt it best that he go back to be with his mamma rather than watch him decline and go down that sad road with Ty. I found an ad on the SPCA for a shepherd mix found on a farm. We went to check him out and were immediately in Love.

Feeling Fourty
Wow. People tell ya its different and you think how in the world in just matter of months could it be THAT different? Well its true. I have come to the conclusion that its a lot like being pregnant. Forever.
1. Gain weight out of nowhere.
2. Probably because the waves of ravenous hunger
3. Fatigued most of the day except between 10-1 in the afternoon
4. If you laugh to hard or even just stand up, sometimes you wet your pants.
5. Weird cravings and new likes.... all things vegetable
6. SWEETS
7. Hormonal skin
8. The wardrobe dillema- Is it appropriate?
9. The baby bump, that does not contain an actual baby
10. Nothing is really worth staying up past 10.
The feeling that half your life has passed. Its just weird. There are people that I graduated highschool with that have grandchildren. I have a four year old. Id be excited about the second half...like the time with my man without kids, an empty house, trips etc, except I still have 14 years!
I have to say that I cannot really complain. Well other than about my body. I have been pretty blessed. I feel blessed to have even made it to 40 and all the things that happened before arriving here. Im 9 months in and I feel like I might as well be in the middle of that decade, but Im glad Im not :)

September Happenings
Olivia got to do a cheerleading camp and had a blast!! I enjoyed going and getting to know other mammas. We have LOVED 6 man football!! The all school pep rallies are awesome! The week of homecoming there were different themes each day. Olivia was the only one in our family to participate in 'decade day' miss 80's! It was SO weird busting out the hairspray and hairdryer to make some wings and add some height!! LOL!!
We went to Cowboy Symposium while Dad went to watch football with his friends. We will plan better next year. It was rainey and most of the things inside were not real kid friendly. All the outside stuff was awesome but they were putting up when we got out there. Apparently there is a cowboy breakfast that we will be sure to make it to next year. It was kind of last minute planning on mamma's part! Oh well you live and you learn. It was pretty cold for a september saturday!

Smalltown America!
We have made some changes! We have been so happy in the past with the school we have been at for five years for many reasons. However, we felt that a 'one on one' atmosphere might benefit us all. We have transferred to a school just 15 miles south of us and are more than loving it!! Our fifth grader has 20 people in his grade level, 3rd grader... 16, and 20 in the four year olds! I have been subbing as often as possible and could not ask for a better experience.
The people there have been so accepting of us as 'outsiders' and taken us in as family!!! I truly mean that! SO CRAZY COOL! My son's teacher noticed right away that he needed speech therapy and got it started, where as it was like an act of congress at our old school! After subbing for PE once I was able to meet the entire Elementary school and now know them by name and get lots of hugs everytime I am up there. What an incredible blessing it has been!

SUMMER LOVIN
Previous summers have been filled with baseball, sports camps, daily playdates, trips back and forth to Dallas, and classes. Last summer I got smart and continued the theme of LAZY this year. You see my kids are 10, 8, and 4. I realize my summers with all three of them are down to 8 left. I want to soak it up but give them (and me) a break from the crazy hussle and bussle of the year. Our weekends stay full of games and our evenings of homework, reading, and dance, piano, guitar, baseball, basketball, etc during the year. Our summer has been a contrast. We started off with some structure that eventually led to just pure chill. We do pick up, make our beds, and clean at least twice a week. The laundry is not quite as caught up but does indeed happen. But we also go to the pool, watch movies, take naps, and play with neighborhood kids. Here are some highlights....
