Summer Casualties...

Chuck E. Cheese Tunnel one day with Meme
What was I thinking? They sure enjoyed them though!

HOW?

Seriously? HOW?
I did get it out after about 30 minutes.

Summer Losses:

1. Olivia's hair- due to getting out of bed and digging through her purse to find a piece of gum which she did indeed find.

2. Toilet Seat- green sharpie

3. Toilet Tank Lid- (ten days later) I don't even know how this happened and have yet to get a straight answer.

4. Ty's fitted Sheet- scissors. SO WEIRD. I am super sad about this one b/c they were jersey sheets in a chambray color that we had a hard time finding.

5. Bathroom Soap- now has to be kept in a cabinet out of reach after literally about 15 times of it being ALL OVER THE COUTNER. (Along with the toothpaste)

6. Bathroom Cup- same as above after pouring water over our counter twice. (Olivia)

7. Wall shelf, with hooks- again... I don't even know.

8. Sign in Olivia's room- ironically says 'Sweet Girl'. Was placed high above a window with nothing to even climb on near it. Again.. I have no idea.

9. MANY Hair clips and bows- have yet to find where they are stashed.. "SHE DOESN'T KNOW"

10. Coffee Pot- our 5th one since we have been married. This one leaks- its a cup push.

11. Small Skillet- I guess we have had a ridiculous amount of grilled cheese.. ten years old, Dillards brand- obviously not built to last.

12. Our living room cabinets... somehow were colored on. I since have painted them all black and are super pleased with how they turned out! This was a GOOD casualty!

13-Ty's teeth-9 to be exact filled cavities :( I am 36 years old and have yet to get a cavity and am SOOO Sad that my 6year old has had to go to the Dentist in three installments to have his filled!!! I guess he was not old enough to be brushing his own teeth, we watch now and he flawses everynight.

14. My windsheild on my burb FINALLY got replaced after a HUGE crack across the entire thing for the past year!!! SOOO happy about this one.

15. My sanity- have had to adapt to a whole new form of positive/negative reinforcement. MARBLES! I got the idea out of my favorite Christmas gift from my mother each year, Family Fun Magazine. I have learned since that it is very common in many classrooms and have passed it on to two friends who are doing the same thing! I love it b/c it is a visual consequence for good and bad choices. I like that I can take marbles out and they are not stuck forever like a star. I just happened to have a taller prego jar (Ty) and a shorter jam jar (Olivia). So far its been successful and when their jar is full they get to choose a friend to spend the night. Three weeks and counting.

16. My waistline :( I worked out hard for two months and was very disciplined in what I ate. 4lbs gone, which could have been done in just a few trips to the powder room. I have come to realize that its just going to take time and in time I will be able to be more disciplined about it on a regular basis. It was super hard working around baby's schedule and the gym's childcare hours. I sort of have given up for the moment. Its hard though b/c I really need my pants!!! I am starting a new office job to which I will have to be dressed at least a little more professionally and cannot just go buy all new clothes and only have so many elastic waist items!!! Two skirts to be exact! How depressing....
17. The door on Ty's armoire was ripped off yesterday. They hide in it and somehow have bent the hinges off. This is getting ridiculous!

Liv and Hampy

G and Levi heading out for some fireworks...

late kids swim!

We usually spend the fourth of July at Trent's parents house (aka Meme and G's). Its always a fun time with burgers, fruit, swimming, and of course the spectacular firework show that takes place right over our heads in the backyard!!! It just doesn't get any better than that. It was a unusally cool day this year, and had been quite rainey all week as well as that day. We were lucky to get to have a firework show! The parade took place the day before since the fourth landed on a Sunday this year. I was really going to try to make it again b/c we had so much fun at it last year, but it was pouring and I didn't brave the weather. Can you imagine that with a stroller! I think back to this day last year when I was purposely waiting until the next day to take a pregnancy test and wondering all day long. Well this year that wonderment was with us! He ended up staying inside with uncle Shanon for the fireworks b/c he just didn't make it staying awake! Trent was in a tournament out at Levelland and ende up winning it! He came just in time for food and fireworks.. and the best part, home-made butterfinger ice cream!!! This year just the Hays were with us and of course Grandmom and DD. What a fun day/evening we had!

Levi is 4.5 months

Wow how this time is flying. Its been a blur mostly. He did marathon eating the first two months nad then slept GREAT for a couple of months, now its random. Some nights its twice but more often its once. Its great however I guess I am just old b/c I am still SO tired!
He is such a happy little guy unless he is hungry. He started rolling over from tummy to back and then the opposite a week ago! I finally put him in his crib last week and knew he would do great, but surprised myself a bit... even I did okay! He has started kind of ooching out of his sleep positioner while still swaddled which is a concern. He cannot go to sleep unless swaddled.. he is TOO much of a mover unless forced to be still. I am not real sure how to approach this. I don't want him covering up his face but otherwise he wakes himself up ALL night, and consequently ALL of us! We have tried swaddling tighter, it just has to be done by Trent to work! He is LOVING that exersaucer and makes a lot of noise jumping in it! He seems to be so much older at 4 months than the other two were! He is very hands on with everything. He has also started trying to escape his bath! Arches his back and tries to wiggle out! This makes bathtime a CHALLENGE to say the least! He normally gets up about 7:30 and then is ready for a morning nap about 9:30 and then goes down for a long afternoon nap about 12:30 or 1:00.
I am trying to stay home for the majority of the day, for many reasons but this being the priority. Summer has been expensive for us! I blew my grocery and gas budget for the whole month in the first two weeks both June and July! Our kids are eating us out of the house and we have been driving all over. Last year we spent most days at the pool which is less than a mile from us but I have not wanted to take Levi with it being so hot and lately very humid! SO rare for Lubbock! Here is something funny, he prefers HGTV to Baby Einstein. Seriously. He screams his head off about one minute in to baby einstein eachtime I have tried it, but HGTV makes him still and he actually watches it. He IS my child! He has a belly laugh and has for about two months!!! SO FUNNY. LOVES to be tickled and for his diaper to come off and thouroughly enjoys a diaper change! He can raise one eyebrow at a time which cracks all of us up! He usually does so while smiling. Overall , Levi is thriving and been such a joy to have around. I will update with some recent pictures soon. I only get about 10 minutes at a time to the computer so it will have to be later. I love this little boy and am trying to write down things while I remember them!

Lugnuts 2010

We ended another season at Frenship Youth League. Ty's team was the Lugnuts this round and they took second place in their division. Ty had a great time and a great season.. he improves each time and we are so proud of him. Not just the way he plays but the way he listens and uses his manners. Sister was quite supportive and does not seem to realize that she is not just one of the guys! I was a little slow getting to the bunch this year after the game with a stroller and baby but managed to get a few pictures. Trent and I have really grown to be great friends with the parents as well and feel blessed to be a part of such a great group of people. We will be starting Fall Ball in another couple of weeks but are enjoying the break for now. Although we were sad to change our name from the Red Dawgs it looks like we will be keeping it for the future for the league and not to have to replace our shirts again! WAY TO GO LUGNUTS!

Olivia Soccer (from Mar-May)

The Camo Queens

Livi's Bestie, Avery Stallings

This was the first year for Olivia to try out a sport and she chose soccer with her best friend since the two's class... miss Avery. What a great experience she had. Our pediatrician and friend was her coach a as well as Avery's dad and she had another friend from school Carson, that played on the team as well. Their little uniforms could not be any cuter thanks to my friend Brandi, AKA Avery's mom. They had matching hoodies and bags! Olivia was not real aggressive but can be seen smiling the entire time she was out there! She scored two goals the whole season which is more than I thought would happen! She LOVED going to practices too. Her coach has a real gift with children and coaches all four of his kids teams.. amazing. I think he is a big part of the reason she enjoyed it so much. There were more cold games than warm and the fields are out on the highest most windy part of Lubbock, but how happy she was to play made it worth it!

One of Trent's former players, and top recruit a few years ago, Kelly Rainbolt, asked Trent to caddy for her in the US Open Women's qualifier. We decided to make a mini-vacation out of it. We stayed in Northwest Ft.Worth close to where the tournament was held. My parents took the kid the second and third night and Trent and I were able to spend some time with just Levi. I met my parents at The Ft.Worth Childrens Museum one day and then the Ft.Worth Zoo another. Also got to eat at one of my favorite places, McKinley's and walk around a bit by myself afterward. WOW- SOOOO relaxing until a thunderstorm hit and the tournament was cancelled for lightening. Unfortunately Kelly did not make the cut but we also enjoyed spending time with her and her family whom are very special to us. Its always fast and furious but we will be back again this summer for more time with friends in the area. It was a much needed get-away that this little family needed!
